SCTC: Sonia Campbell Thomas Coaching & Consulting

France

For 15 years, I was COO of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, where I organized global events, delivered training, led lobbying efforts, and advanced standardization in the BE sector. Currently, I consult with jwc, advising international BE companies, and work as an independent consultant and executive coach, supporting businesses and leaders in strategy, leadership, and project management.

Since 2020, I've coached startup teams at HEC Paris's Executive Master in Entrepreneurship & Innovation, including in the BE field. As VP of Women in Exhibitions, I mentor women globally and lead research on their challenges and opportunities. I have been teaching International HRM at Dauphine University for 5 years. My expertise spans leadership, project management, coaching, and strategic advice, combined with deep BE sector knowledge. I'm passionate about fostering innovation, driving business success, and mentoring leaders to achieve their goals.

Experiences

Talent and inclusion: upskilling and future capabilities, more accessible events and diverse participation.

I am certified in Inclusive Leadership and apply this expertise in consulting, coaching, my work with Women in Exhibitions, and at HEC Business School Paris. I've conducted diversity and inclusion training, focusing on cognitive biases for the Inditex group. In June 2024, I led a workshop on diversity and inclusion at the IELA Congress, focusing on accessible events and diverse participation. I am passionate about fostering inclusive environments where talent is diverse, upskilling is accessible, and individuals and organizations thrive. As an HRM teacher, I help influence Gen Z.

Governance and impact: regenerative business models with lasting impact, cross-sector and local communities’ platforms, profitability and tech access.

I work with startups, including in the tech sector, helping build regenerative business models with lasting impact. From my experience at UFI & Women in Exhibitions (WiE), I understand the value of building communities in the BE sector. Over the last two years, I've organized two WiE World Summits, strengthening the brand & fostering cross-sector collaboration. I'm passionate about creating platforms that drive profitability, tech access, & sustainable growth, benefiting local communities. I'm also integrating a community platform for WiE. Networks are essential for my coaching & consulting.

Other experiences

With extensive experience in multicultural management and diverse team leadership, including HR management, I have developed a strong foundation in governance and legal aspects pertinent to the BE sector. My consultancy work has included work on identifying and enhancing customer journey touchpoints within the industry. I have consistently served as a mentor, guiding teams and individuals with compassion and a commitment to sharing insights and experiences, in a framework of mutual respect. I enjoy a similar relationship with my HRM students.
